Carbon Trust Certification for Invensys Rail in UK

22 Feb 2012

Invensys plc, a leading global technology group focussed upon industrial automation, rail transportation and controls in the appliance and commercial/residential heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration sectors, has been recertified under the Carbon Trust Standard by achieving reductions in carbon emissions at our UK operations over the past two years.  Invensys is one of over 400 businesses in the UK to achieve Carbon Trust recertification in the UK to date.

To achieve Carbon Trust certification, organisations must measure their electricity and on-site fuel use, calculate their carbon emissions and demonstrate reductions in emissions over the Carbon Trust recertification period.

Our Invensys UK operations were first certified Carbon Trust Standard certification in 2009, and since then, we have reduced our carbon emissions related to electricity, natural gas use and fleet fuels from our manufacturing sites and offices by 4.7%. One contributing factor to our successes in reducing our energy use over the recertification period has been the increased awareness provided by the real-time (half hour) energy data monitoring services of Invensys’s IM Serv energy technology solutions (see http://www.imserv.com ).

Nick Crossfield, President of Invensys Rail Ltd said, "We are pleased to be recognized again by the Carbon Trust for our efforts on energy and carbon reductions.  Our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint at our own operations align directly with, and are reinforced by, the innovative products and services we provide to our rail customers not only in the UK but around the world.”

As a leading player in the global rail industry, we’re constantly in the news. We also attend most of the major trade shows and events throughout the year, making sure our existing and potential customers and partners meet us in all our key markets.
