Invensys Rail will have its biggest ever presence at InnoTrans this year with its stand (#215 in Hall 4.2) packed with demonstrations of the company's latest developments and innovations. The exhibition takes place on September 21-24 at the Messe Exhibition Centre, Berlin.
Topping the bill will be the first ever showing of Invensys Rail's brand new LYRA Vital Systems Platform, which is significantly smaller than existing equivalents, making installation of new signalling systems to legacy rolling stock in particular, easier and more cost effective than ever, as well as being highly suitable for new train applications. LYRA is especially suitable for use with European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) and Invensys Rail hopes to make a big splash with the new platform.
Another first is the European debut of Invensys Rail's United States-developed Positive Train Control (PTC) system. Although PTC is primarily aimed at the North American market, railways with similar operating regimes or who don't require ERTMS can also benefit from the safety and capacity enhancements the company's PTC solution offers.
New developments in Invensys Rail's comprehensive range of signalling solutions will be of interest to railways and operators all over the world. An ERTMS demonstrator will showcase the company's high- profile and rapidly expanding work in that demanding sector, while Invensys Rail's groundbreaking Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) systems can be 'road tested' by visitors on a Driver Machine Interface. Also on show will be the latest integrated Control Centre solution featuring SystematICS.
The latest iterations of the WESTRACE interlocking will form the heart of a fascinating demonstration of Invensys Rail's modular signalling philosophy, which seeks to make the design, installation, operation and eventual upgrade of signalling systems simpler, cheaper and more effective. Level crossings, meanwhile, are coming under greater scrutiny almost everywhere in terms of safety and the disruption lengthy closures can cause to road users, so Invensys Rail's latest Grade Crossing Predictor devices are sure to be of great interest to railways with large numbers of level crossings.
"InnoTrans is where the world's railways come together." says Invensys Rail CEO James Drummond, who adds: "We have more and more to showcase every year, and we're looking forward to meeting existing and future clients - and showing how we can help them unlock the full potential of their railways."
